East Coast 2000

Day 5 - Tuesday, June 27

Today was going to be a driving day.  We were eager to get to New York and it was going to be a couple of days from here.  We left Indiana and cruised right on through Ohio.  It would have been nice to see Toledo or Cleveland, but there just wasn't time.  The Lady of the Harbour was waiting for us....

Much of the geography here was similiar to back home.  As we got into Pennsylvania, the scenery became quite nice.  Pardon my geographic ignorance, but I had expected most of this part of the country to be open, flat prairie.  Not so.  Lots of trees and rolling hills.  Very nice.

As evening approached, we found a campground operated by some nice German people that had taken it over a few years ago.  They called it Nittany Mountain Campsite and it was a ways off the turnpike, but well worth the drive.  It was a well run and kept private campground.  It was mostly RVs and it was only us and another family occupying the tent area so we got to choose our site.
